    As a signatory to the New Zealand government's Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, Whitiriea & WelTec has an important responsibility to make sure our international students are well informed, safe, and cared for. 

    Our International Student Support team provides international confidential assistance and advice on any questions or concerns you might have in adapting to study and life in New Zealand, including:

    • information and advice on accommodation options

    • how to cope with homesickness and cultural differences as you adjust to living in New Zealand

    • general health and wellbeing

    • how to access welfare facilities, including personal health services, mental health services, drug education and counselling, and problem gambling

    • how to access information on sexuality education, health promotion, and sexual and reproductive health services

    • student advocacy and grievance procedures at Whitiriea & WelTec 

    • New Zealand law and legal issues

    • Assistance and support if you’re facing difficulties or hardship

    As signatories to the New Zealand government's Education (Pastoral Care of International Students) Code of Practice 2016, WelTec and Whitireia are committed to ensuring that our international students are well informed, safe and properly cared for.

    We will help you access services within and outside of Whitiriea & WelTec to provide you with the information and help you need.
