WelTec provides each student with  a 1Gb Home Drive to save their work. We recommend that you use this to save your work as this is backed up daily.

Your Home Drive is provided for you to store any files you are working on that relate to the programme you are undertaking.

You should not store any of the following in your Home Drive:
·          Any files that breach copyright laws.
·          Photos, Music or Videos not being used in your programme.
·          Applications or software install files.
·          Virtual Machine Files.
.          Creative Technology project work.

Your home drive appears in Windows Explorer as H: Drive. A coloured blue line will indicate the percentage of the drive that is used up. This line will turn red when you are nearing your limit.

If you exceed the 1Gb limit of your Home Drive you will receive a pop up notification. You will then be prevented from writing any more files to the drive until either you archive to another location e.g. USB Drive or delete files to get back below this limit.

Some programmes have additional storage requirements. Your tutor will advise you if provisions have been made for you to have additional storage.

Your home drive is also available from home when using Citrix.

You are encouraged to use your own storage solutions i.e. USB drive, online storage. You are however not permitted to install any supporting software for these on WelTec PCs.
