Internal Factors Affecting Work Culture and Relationships
Overview
Work culture and relationships are affected by many factors. Everything that happens within an organisation influences the behaviour of the people in the organisation and also the organisation itself.
Read more about the internal factors that affect work culture and relationships.
History
When you start a new job, the organisation already has a history that you will soon become a part of. How the organisation has developed is an important influence on its present condition. Your behaviours and relationships will be strongly influenced by the past.
Cultural mix of the employees
This is increasingly important as societies become more multicultural. People are part of their own culture, and the workplace will reflect the mix of all cultures in its employees.
Organisational politics
If you work in a large organisation, you might find that there is quite a bit of organisational politics. You might find that certain people are in leadership roles by virtue of the politics rather than their actual job. When a new system is introduced, it may be these people who make the decision on whether or not it will be acceptable. If these 'movers' like the system, everyone likes it.
These are just a few examples of internal factors. Can you think of any more?
