Job Description Task

This task requires you to create a job description for a Machinery Assembler Apprentice. The information you need can be found by searching the web or libraries. A particularly useful website is the New Zealand Government's Career Services Rapuara site.

You will work within your forum teams to research and answer the task questions, and then collate and present your completed job description for the position.

You need to organise your forum team. You can nominate yourself for positions or suggest other team members. Your forum team needs to:

1. choose a facilitator to direct discussions within the team
2. decide how the members of the team will work together to research the task questions and deliver feedback, for example, agree on who will research which question
3. choose a reporter to collate and write up the team's findings.

In researching the information, you need to address these questions:

2. What is the main purpose of the position and who will the appointee report to?
3. What business plan objectives will the appointee support?
4. What working relationships and authorities will the appointee have?
5. What will the appointee's duties and tasks be?
6. What are the appointee's required competencies?

   • physical requirements
7. What qualifications and experience should the appointee have?
