How the New Machinery Will Change Jobs

When the new machinery arrives, it will expand the pre-forming plant's capacity and a few changes will have to be made to the jobs there.

Cutting machine operator

There may be some changes to how this job is carried out. The new machine will affect this part of the process, and will increase the speed at which this job is done. There is room for more people to learn how to do this work, and it may be that the current operator will need retraining.

Assembler

The assemblers will be working more quickly, or at least more efficiently, when the new machinery is in place. As the cutting process is going to be faster, the assemblers will need to work out a way of keeping up with the available work. This may be an area where there is some potential for hiring more staff.

Other

Other jobs, such as ordering and despatch, will also change. These jobs are based on the current speed of the work, and if the machinery creates the efficiencies that it is expected to, then the work will speed up. The orders will also need to be kept up to date, and there may be some changes to despatch.
