Section 3: Nature of the Agreement
An agreement’s nature may be defined as:
- permanent, where an employee is employed for an indefinite duration
- fixed-term, where an employee is employed for a specific time period
- casual, where the employee is only expected to work from time to time.
This activity only covers a general agreement. We have not included choices for the casual, fixed term or permanent nature of an agreement. There are differences in the hours of work for casual workers that are not reflected in this agreement builder. Consequently, all hours of work choices are provided. If you need a more comprehensive document we recommend you go the New Zealand Department of Labour’s website www.ers.dol.govt.nz/relationships/ otherwise continue building your general agreement.
