  • In this section we will look at common flues used in Gasfitting.

    Why do we need a flue?Flue Picture

    Gas regulations require that every gas appliance that requires a flue shall be fitted with a flue. This may sound obvious, but mistakes can be made and this can be dangerous. 

    Flues must be designed and installed to safely discharge combustion products from the appliance and remove them as soon as they are produced.

    Types of flue:

    • Natural Draught or Open Flue
    • Balanced or Room Sealed
    • Power or fan assisted

    We will go into theses flues into more detail in the following sections.
