EdTech staff will hold a general workshop that other staff may attend.
Its purpose will be to introduce you to at least quiz tools for formative activities. We'll show you how to add a basic quiz and discuss the various uses of quizzes including providing great feedback. .
A date for the 1 hr workshop will be announced. Please complete this short question to help us plan.
Look at these examples of quizzes and assess their value for you and your students. (1 hour)
Ask your colleagues if they have other examples of great quizzes that you can look at.
Make a note of which ones will work for you. You may even decide to add this and the skills you are aiming to develop to your Course Plan.

This selection of activities are related to each other: a topic overview, a reading and an associated quiz. The quiz uses feedback to develop student literacy skills. Note that these three documents are EXAMPLES. We have not supplied the readings. Take a guess at the correct answers so that you can see the extensive feedback. -
What do you know about engines is a diagnostic quiz using mostly multi choice questions. It is aimed at creating a sense of anticipation but also provides a way for tutors to gain a quick picture of students. A more developed electro technology quiz is also used.

For formative activities feedback is extremely important.
While it's tempting to add "well done" or "incorrect" it's much more useful to add the reason for the error (if wrong) or affirmation for a right answer.
We'll take a look at using feedback before the final activity. (about 1 hour).
