Construction planning: An introduction
You work for Triple A Design and Build, one of the staff have left and the manager asks you to take over the construction planning for the next project, a three storey building. You may not know what construction planning is really all about, so we've given you access to your predecessor and a notebook to help.
You call your friend for advice and he leaves you some messages. Go to the phone to pick up the messages and read the email memos he sends you.

Making decisions
One of Triple A’s clients with a block of land in a commercial area has asked the company to produce plans and a price for a 3-storey building on the site.The company’s drawing office has produced drawings of the proposed building and the site. You have also been advised that there is a range of acceptable values for the cost of the building, the time it will take to build and the annual cost to maintain the building.
This simulation exercise will give you practice in making the kinds of decisions you need to make when you are writing the pre-tender construction plan.
