These triangles have one side known and the hypotenuse of known lengths.

The equations you need to solve are derived from Pythagoras' Theorem. Plugging in the known and unknown quantities into the theorem yields:

10) \( x^2 + 4 = 9 \)

11) \( v^2 + 16 = 36 \)

12) \( z^2 + 25 = 64 \)

In terms of solving these, I will use Q10 as an example.

\( x^2 + 4 = 9 \)

\( x^2 = 5 \)

\( x = \sqrt{5} = 2.236 ... = 2.24 \) to two decimal places.

Thanks
