When: 20th October (This Saturday)

Where: Freyberg High School

Event Type: Combined VRC and VEX IQ

This will be the eighth competition event of the new season, kindly hosted by Freyberg High School.

VRC teams, please remember the new house rules that were put into place at the previous event.

They have been repeated here for your convenience. Teachers, please ensure your students have read these rules.

Important note regarding Registration:

Starting with the Regional competition on November 24th, teams must be registered via RobotEvents in order to compete.

This will continue to apply next season, although we may choose not to apply this to the first event of the season.

Important note regarding IQ Nationals:

The New Zealand IQ Nationals are on December 8th, at the Palmerston North Conference & Function Centre (formerly the Convention Centre).

Teams that wish to compete will need to register for the season via RobotEvents, and then register for the event.

The registration deadline is fast approaching, and teams should register ASAP.

Any teachers/teams that need help with registering should contact Stephan van Haren urgently (stephan@centralrobotics.org.nz).

Central Robotics House Rules (VRC Only)

  1. Teams are responsible for making sure that they are registered for the event, check in to the event on time, and show up to/pass tech inspection.
Your team must be registered, checked in, AND have passed tech inspection before matches are generated at 10.35am. Otherwise you will not be competing.

VRC Teams: Register Here (once per team/robot)
  2. The only exceptions to the robot sizing rule <R4> are that axles may be permitted outside of the 18" limits, up to 0.5" (unless it provides tactical advantage).
The intent of this rule modification is to prevent unnecessary destruction of parts during robot development. Note that this is a house rule for local scrimmages only, and will not apply at regionals or nationals.
