      What is Site Quality Assurance?

      There are two main stages to the QA process: pre-tender and post-contract.

      In the pre-tender phase you prepare the documentation and 'scope' the project. In the second, post-contract phase, you write the Site Quality Plan(SQP).

      Before we start, let's meet the team at Mahia Construction so that you can begin to get an overview of the site quality assurance process and find an answer to the question "What is quality assurance?"

      Your next task is to put a pre-tender plan together using the template below.


      The information from the Why Quality Assurance stories and the Mahia Construction overview will be useful when you write the pre-tender plan.


      Once you have completed the template, save it and upload it to your assignment drop box. Use the links on the left to the QA Manual and the Pre-tender factor checklist if you need to.

    • When you write your SQP you need to work systematically. You'll follow the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NZIQS) list of elements and for each element there will be a control sheet. This link has the list of elements.
